Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC) meeting

Smart Freight Centre is hosting the third annual US meeting of the Global Logistics Emissions Council on October 2nd. Open to both members and non-members, this one-day meeting will share the practical experience from companies using the GLEC Framework to track greenhouse gas emissions from rail, road, air and sea transport both in direct operations and in the supply chain.

GHG Protocol

The Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol sets the global standard for how to measure, manage, and report greenhouse gas emissions.

Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting

The meeting program will cover all transportation modes, with more than 5,000 presentations in nearly 800 sessions and workshops, addressing topics of interest to policy makers, administrators, practitioners, researchers, and representatives of government, industry, and academic institutions. More than 35 sessions and workshops will focus on the spotlight theme for the 2016 meeting: Research Convergence for a Multimodal Future. And more than 75 will address one or more of three “hot topics:” Transformation Technologies, Resilience, and Transportation and Public Health.

GLEC Framework for Logistics Emissions Methodologies

Provides a closely harmonized basis for the calculation of emissions from freight transport chains across modes and global regions.

Clean Cargo Working Group Carbon Emissions Accounting Methodology

The CCWG CO2 methodology for container shipping measures fuel and CO2 efficiency of vessels based on actual fuel consumption, actual sailed distance and nominal maximum TEU capacity of vessels.
